• Getting the source via CVS:
  
  You can always get the latest code via CVS.
  To checkout the source code you need to have cvs installed on your system and perform the following commands at the console:
  
  cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.jayenne.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jayenne login
  cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.jayenne.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jayenne co jayenne

• Requirements:
  To compile Jayenne you need a Java compiler version 1.4 or above.
  You can install for example SUN's J2SDK 1.4 that you can download from java.sun.com. It might be possible that you can compile it with a 1.1.x or 1.3.x version of Java, but this is not tested by us.
  
  To run an already compiled version of Jayenne you only need a Java 1.4 (or above) Runtime Environment like SUN's J2RE 1.4. You can download if from the site mentioned above.
